The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has been ranked first in the National Institute of Ranking and Research (NIRF) Rankings 2021, which was announced for top universities in India.

The majority of the colleges that have earned a spot in the top ten this year are the same as those who will be rated at the top of the list in 2020. Aligarh Muslim University has made great strides forward since last year, rising from 17th place in 2020 to 10th place in 2021, according to the most recent rankings.

1. Located in Bangalore, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is a world-renowned research institution (NIRF Rank 1)
NIRF Ranking 2021 has named IISc Bangalore as the greatest institute in India for advanced scientific and technical research and teaching. The institute received a spectacular total score of 82.67, making it the top-scoring institute in the whole country.
Under the Division of Biological Sciences, Division of Chemical Sciences, Division of Physical & Mathematical Sciences, Division of Electrical Sciences, Division of Mechanical Sciences, and Division of Interdisciplinary Research are just some of the divisions under which the institute offers a variety of Science courses to students.
2. In New Delhi, there is a university known as Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) (NIRF Rank 2)
It is one of India’s premier institutions and is a popular choice among students who wish to pursue studies in the Humanities. As many as ten academic centers within the university have been designated as ‘Centers of Excellence’ by the University Grants Commission (UGC). With a score of 67.99, JNU was ranked second overall in the country.

3. Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi (NIRF Rank 3)
BHU, an internationally renowned institution, is well-known for its research-oriented courses, which are offered in both the Humanities and Science streams. University of Cape Town is home to six centers for advanced studies, ten departments under the Special Assistance Program (SAP), and an extensive network of specialized research facilities.
The university claims to be Asia’s largest residential university and to be the largest in the world. The main campus of this major institution encompasses 1,300 acres and is the largest in the country. With a score of 64.02, BHU finished in third place overall.
4. Calcutta University is located in Kolkata (NIRF Rank 4)
Calcutta University, which was established in 1854, is one of the country’s oldest educational institutions. 5. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore (NIRF Rank 5)
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a multi-campus, multi-disciplinary research academic institution that is widely regarded as one of the greatest research institutes in India. The university has six campuses in three Indian states: Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
The university is divided over three campuses in three different states. Students can choose from a variety of courses offered by the university’s various schools and departments, which include the Centre for Allied Health Sciences, School of Arts and Sciences (SAS), School of Ayurveda (SAY), School of Biotechnology (SB), School of Business (Dept of Communication), School of Dentistry (School of Education), School of Engineering (School of Engineering), Medicine (School of Engineering), College of Nursing (School of Pharmacy), and Department of Social Work. 6. Jamia Milia Islamia (NIRF Rank 6)
Jamia Milia Islamia (commonly known as JMI) is a central university in Delhi that was established in 1924. It was founded in 1920 and is recognized by the University Grants Commission. There are no formal affiliations with any organizations other than the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
It is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council with an “A” grade (NAAC). With a score of 60.74, Jamia Milia Islamia has been rated 6th among universities in the University category.
7. Manipal Higher Education Academy (NIRF Rank 7)
Manipal Academy of Higher Education, formerly Manipal University, is a Karnataka-based deemed-university. Mangalore, Bangalore, Dubai, and Malaysia are all off-campus sites. The university’s Mangalore campus offers instruction in medicine, dentistry, and nursing.
Regenerative Medicine is taught at the Bangalore campus. The Dubai campus offers programmes in engineering, management, and architecture, while the Melaka campus offers programmes in medicine and dentistry. In the University category, Manipal Academy of Higher Education had a score of 60.58.
8. Jadavpur University (NIRF Rank 8)
Jadavpur University was established in 1955 and currently provides courses in Technology, Science, and Arts. The university is divided into two campuses: Jadavpur (58 acres) and Salt Lake (158 acres) (spread across 26 acres). Jadavpur University offers undergraduate and graduate programmes in the humanities, sciences, engineering, and technology. Jadavpur University was placed eighth in the University category by NIRF Ranking 2021, with a 60.33 score.
9. University of Hyderabad (NIRF Rank 9)
Hyderabad University in Telangana is one of India’s premier postgraduate teaching and research institutions. The SN School of Arts and Communication, the SN School of Mathematics and Statistics, the SN School of Physicists, the SN School of Chemists, the SN School of Medical Sciences, the SN School of Engineering Sciences, and a College for Integrated Studies are just a few of the schools that offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses to students. The University of Hawaii received a 59.71 rating in the NIRF Rankings 2021 for the University Category.
10. University of Aligarh (NIRF Rank 10)
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) was established in 1920 following the establishment of the Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College (MAO College) in 1875. It is a state university located in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. AMU was founded by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.
There are no admission requirements to the university. AMU is divided into 13 faculties, each with its own department. AMU was ranked tenth in the University category by NIRF Rankings 2021, with a 58.97 score.
